Instruction in the Case of School Closures and COVID-19 Public Health Emergency .
Below is information from the Executive Team at SDLC
- Memo from the State of
Florida
Governor
DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-52 – Emergency Management – COVID-19 Public
Health Emergency and declared a state of emergency today. The Director of
the Division of Emergency Management has been designated as the State
Coordinating Officer for the duration of the emergency.
- Instruction in the Case
of School Closures
The
Academic Services Team has been planning over the past few weeks for an
instructional plan in the case of school closures.
The
plan includes many similar concepts as in the link below from Miami-Dade and as
an example, the link to their Instructional Continuity Plan for Emergency
School Closures is http://icp.dadeschools.net/#!/fullWidth/2943
At
the appropriate time and if needed we will share the instructional plan
specific to Lee County that we are finalizing.
- Communication to Staff
and Families
Staff,
parents, and students must self-report according to the CDC guidelines and only
in the instances on the CDC website.
In/out
of county and out of state field trips are still permitted including athletic
events. Families who choose to not attend these trips and events should
not be penalized.
At
this time we are continuing to follow our normal attendance polices.
It is vital that you and your team stay informed with the most current information provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
