Early Sign Out
To ensure the safety of all students and minimize disruptions to the instructional environment, the School District of Lee County enforces strict check-out procedures.
Cut-Off Time
All early sign-out requests must be made at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the end of the school day.
- Full Day of School 3:45 PM
- Early Dismissal Day 1:45 PM
Authorized Personnel
Students will only be released to individuals explicitly listed on the student's emergency card. This applies to immediate family, relatives, and friends alike.
Identification Requirements
Anyone requesting a student sign-out must present a
valid government issued photo ID to the front office for verification.
Student Contact
Once identification is verified, the main office will contact the classroom for dismissal. In alignment with district policy regarding wireless communication devices,
parents must communicate directly through the main office rather than texting or calling their student's personal device during school day.
End of School Day
The standard instructional day concludes at
4:15 PM. Dismissal is conducted in a staggered, orderly
manner via the afternoon School News broadcast to maximize campus security. Walkers and bicycle
riders are dismissed first.
Bus Transportation
- Staggered Loading: Following the afternoon announcement, a live list of buses currently on the
loading ramp will be displayed. Students assigned to those specific buses must report
immediately to the ramp.
- Staging: All other bus riders must remain inside their classrooms. The list will update in real-time as additional buses arrive. Students are expected to know their bus number and monitor the broadcast attentively.
- Delayed Buses: Remaining students will be dismissed at 4:30 and will wait on the ramp. CLMS
will make every effort to notify families regarding significantly delayed routes.
- Alternative Pick-Up: Parents opting to pick up a student who is waiting on a delayed bus must check in directly with the main office.
